The Real Shillelagh For the weekend that is in it :) Shillelagh (Irish: Síol Éalaigh, meaning "Descendants of Éalach") is a village located in County Wicklow, Ireland. The town was planned as part of the FitzWilliam estate in the 17th century. The town name is associated with the blackthorn walking stick known as a shillelagh. Friday 15 March 2013

Irish Colour
Colourful Trip We had a brilliant stay in West Cork. This is Eyeries. Due to cars on the sunny side of the street I had to opt for this side but it still captures the bold colours of the entire village. This was taken around 18.15 (6.15pm) Eyeries, renowned for its multi-coloured houses and its panoramic views over the Atlantic has two pubs, two shops, one of these with petrol and diesel pumps, a cafe/restaurant and a post office/shop. In every year since 2003 it has won either a gold or silver medal in the small village category of the Ireland Tidy Towns competition. http://www.eyeries.com/index.html Thank you all for the lovely birthday and anniversary wishes. View Point This is my hubby taking in the view on our recent trip back to my home town area. It is a sight we both thought was not going to be possible during the last few months of 2010 and even up to early this year. Posting it today as I processed it yesterday as we were too tied up in medical appointments yesterday to shoot. Thanks for all the comments and views on my nephew's photo yesterday. Heart of Village at 14.35 on Friday 17 September 2010 Aird Mhór, meaning "Great Height" is a village with a population of around 300. It is a beautiful seaside village with great history. I will post more from my visit there yesterday over the next few days. Sept 18, 2010
