John Laing & Friends Class C Bm Ketch measuring 20.95m built in 1987. Home Port: Southampton, England
Christian Radich Taken around 8.30am yesterday morning. Note absence of crowds :)) This is on the North side of the quays. We had a great 5hours at the Tall Ships. Sometimes the sun even shone! Being Ireland the weather turned beautiful in the evening. Phill found the energy somewhere and we were able to return for the late sun 9pm -10pm. haven't processed any of the late ones yet. This ship is a Class A Fully rigged Ship built in 1937 an is 73m in length. It is Norwegian and its home port is Oslo. Mir Posting and running this morning as heading back to the Tall Ships to get them in the morning light. Will catch up with commenting later today. The Mir is a Class A Fully rigged Ship 110m in length. Its home port is St Petersburg in Russia and it was built in Poland in 1987. Jult 2, 2011
Maybe They arrived and we got to spend time photographing. I picked this one as it was my favourite :)) Also the name seemed to sum up our day. Phill managed to walk around and photograph for 4 hours! He is very tired today so our next visit there will be on Saturday. We plan to get to the northside (were on southside yesterday) For those interested in details: This is a Class B Rig BM Ketch built in 1929. Home port is Hull in the UK. It is 26.13m in length. Gloria a Class A Rig Barque 3 built in 1968 with home port Cartegna in Columbia is in the background. It is 65.1m in length. July 1, 2011
Tall Ships Ahoy! This day next week the 2011 Tall Ships Race comes to where I now live. The banners in the shot are about the event hence the choice of for today's post. Lets hope and pray that the weather improves. http://www.waterfordtallshipsrace.ie/ Waterford is Ireland's oldest city. It was founded in 914 AD by the Vikings. June 23, 2011
