My Treasured Photos

Heart of the City

There is a farm within Dublin City. We visited there a couple of weeks ago whilst staying with my sister. It was a strange experience for my sister and I walking around a farm which was surrounded by apartment complexes! Very different from growing up in the country as we did.
The sheep were camera shy :)) Unlike thier country counterparts http://www.mcdonegal1.com/Daily-Photo/Daily-Photo-2011/17298656_45BrtP#1313265646_xfx9JhM

Ignoring the Storm

First of all I want to thank you for your support during my hubby's critical illness. Things are more settled now and I hope to be here almost every day.

May 30, 2011

Hubby had a whole week free of medical appointments and was feeling good so we got to go spend the week back in my home area of County Donegal. These sheep ignoring the stormy seas captured my attention. A great example of doing whatever it is that we need to do regardless of what is going on around us.
Watching

The rain pored down all day yesterday.
This shot was taken in August. These are Blackface Mountain sheep. They are very hardy and thrive in harsh & exposed conditions. This is typical of the mountain land where sheep graze.

UPDATE: The red paint is the mark of the owner. As the sheep all roam freely this is the only way they can be identified.

Day 197: Sept 7, 2010
As the Storm Gathers

Continuing the stone wall theme. First day of my three day weekend and the sun is shining!!

Day 193: Sept 3, 2010
A Forest of .......

This is part of Glengesh Pass between Carrick and Ardara in Donegal Ireland. It is magnificent in its wilderness. Trees have to be cultivated there.

A few asked about the wind turbine yesterday...It is one of 6.

Thank you all for the lovely welcome back.
