This is what is known as a Day Boat

These are medium sized boats, ranging from 8 to 12 meters, with an enclosed whellhouse, berths and more advanced navigationnal equipment. These boats fish within a 5km (3 miles) limit of the shoreline. They are usually small trawlers or gill netters.
Because of their smaller size, they usually lack onboard refrigeration equipment and keep their catch fresh with ice they collect at the pier prior to sailing. With a crew of two or three men, the day boats lack the comfort and facilities of larger boats and will usually stay at sea for a maximum of two or three days.
