My Treasured Photos

Cruisin'

Due to a completely wet day I didn't get out to photograph. This is from my last trip up home. The hill is called The Sleeping Warrior. The boat is cruising in Lough Gill which is where The Lake Isle of Inisfree is for those of you familiar with William Butler Yeats' poetry.

Thanks to everyone for all their views, comments and thumbs up during the week.

Lough Gill

On my journey back from Donegal on Sunday I took a diversion to explore a castle. This was my first glimpse of it...bottom right. Over the next few days I hope to bring you on a tour of the castle through my daily posts.

Lough Gill is a large lake, nearly six and a half miles long and two and a half miles wide. There is public access to the lough from a pier on the south shore at the mouth of the Garvoge River, at Inishfree Pier and at Shriff Bay. Lough Gill holds browntrout and salmon. Extract from http://www.lookaroundireland.com/scenicinteractive/loughgill.htm
