Enjoying the View

Phill took this shot of my 14 year old nephew and I when we made it home to Killybegs in September.

The response to the Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness was amazing! Personally I was veyr moved by all the entries. A huge thanks to Tina http://sisterhoodofthebras.smugmug.com/ for organizing the challenge.

Hard Work

Donegal are All Ireland Football Champions! As I currently live in the diagonal opposite side of the country I am not up there to get celebratory shots so posting this one from our visit home two weeks ago as it has the Donegal flag flying proudly.

Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome back last Monday and for all the comments and stars all week. Every one very much appreciated.

Come on Donegal

Donegal is in the All Ireland Gaelic Football final tomorrow for only the second time ever. We won when we made it to the final in 1992. The match is tomorrow but as there is a Blue Challenge for prostate cancer awareness month I am posting this a day early.

Lough Eske Castle

Lough Eske Castle, a five star castle hotel is located just outside Donegal Town, has a rich history dating back to the 1400's being associated with the O'Donnells, the founding fathers of Donegal, (my home county). Taken from http://www.solishotels.com/lougheskecastle/

Taken during a trip home in the summer. Processed yesterday.

Slieve League as the mist rolled in.

From left: View of walk/trek up Sliabh League; My "baby" sister with our mother,; Looking down from about half way up it is possible to catch a glimpse of my Mum on her way back down; zoomed shot of my Mum on her way back down. She was a little nervous of slipping and breaking her wrist again which happened her 2 years ago when trekking across rocky ground with her 2 youngest grandsons.

Slieve League, sometimes Slieve Leag or Slieve Liag (Irish: Sliabh Liag), is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Republic of Ireland. At 601 metres (1,972 ft), it has Ireland's highest sea cliffs. Although less famous than the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Slieve League's cliffs reach almost three times higher.

I am going back to work one day a week and today will be my first day back. Both of us are a little apprehensive but excited too as it will bring a feeling of normality back to our lives. Needless to say we have wonderful backup in place should Phill need it. After 10months it is a great step forward.
